Your privacy is important to us.

Interfaith Counseling (ICS) is committed to providing you with high quality therapy and to forming a relationship with you that is built on trust.  That means respecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your therapy information.  We protect your rights by putting into practice policies and procedures that allow access to client-protected health information, whether written or oral, only for legitimate reasons and as determined by federal and state law.

ICS practice complies with requirements of the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and of state licensing laws.  Such regulations determine when and how counselors may release client records to insurance companies, other professionals and to clients themselves.  Clients must provide written consent for the release of any of their Protected Health Information for treatment or health care operations.  Counselors inform clients as early as possible about the nature of these restrictions, normally both orally and in writing.  The agency also has a HIPAA Officer who oversees  implementation and update of HIPAA guidelines, and responds to questions concerning its regulations.
